The Lake County Democratic Party would like to thank everyone who helped make our inaugural “Meet the Candidates and Get Out the Vote” event a wonderful success.

The Lakeport Yacht Club provided an outstanding venue.

Special thanks go out to Congressman Mike Thompson, state Sen. Patricia Wiggins, Assemblyman Wes Chesbro and Assembly member Noreen Evans for their generous sponsorship contributions.

We were pleased to host our attending speakers. The speakers were District 3 Supervisor Denise Rushing; Clearlake City Council member and candidate for District 2 superintendent, Joyce Overton; Wally Holbrook, candidate for Lake County superintendent of schools; Doug Rhoades and Don Anderson, candidates for Lake County district attorney; and Francisco Rivero, candidate for Lake County sheriff-coroner.

The day could not have happened without the help and hard work of the many members who contributed time and energy to the event. Wanda Quitiquit and the committee were the planners for the event. Alaina Bensley organized and mounted the beautiful silent auction. Harold Riley and Bill Berkey staffed the beverage service.

Mark Wickhamshire and partner Jack Troyer, Wanda Harris, Sunny Westergren, Dave Westergren, James Evans, Laurel Groshong, Paula Mune, Wendy White, and numerous others who pitched in to help make the event a success deserve our gratitude.
