I am George Roxson, retired captain of the Lake County Sheriff’s Department. I have 32 years of service to Lake County. My brother Camillo Roxson is a retired captain from Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department with 25 years of service. We are both graduates of the FBI National Academy. We have worked virtually every division within a sheriff’s department and know how a department should be run. Law enforcement has been our life and we deeply care about the efficiency of our Lake County Sheriff’s Department.
Over the last year we have become very concerned about the operation of the sheriff’s department and have lost confidence in its leader, Sheriff Rod Mitchell. One only has to read the newspapers, talk to the public or members of his department to discover the discord that is prevalent in that department. The administration has lost its ability to serve its employees and the people of Lake County.
We have examined the resumes of the other two candidates and find that Jack Baxter is by far the most qualified. He has 38 years of experience which includes almost every aspect of law enforcement, training and hands on supervision of officers. His education includes a bachelor of arts in public administration and many accomplishments and honors throughout his career. Check out his resume on his website, www.baxterforsheriff.com.
A fresh start with an impartial outlook is the best way to repair the discord. Jack Baxter is the man for the job.
George Roxson lives in Lakeport; his brother Camillo (Rocky) Roxson lives in Upper Lake.
