KELSEYVILLE – Calling all dessert chefs!

The Kelseyville Pear Festival Dessert Contest, sponsored by Lake Parts in Lakeport, is looking for your signature or old family pear dessert that consistently gets raves from everyone.

The three top winners will be awarded gift certificates.

The pear should be the “star” of the dessert. The pears, any variety, can be fresh, canned or dried.

The judges will be looking for the pear’s taste, texture and appearance. All entries submitted must be delivered on disposable plates to the Kelseyville Presbyterian Church Friendship Hall located on Third Street in Kelseyville between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24.

Accompanying your dessert, a legible copy of your recipe with your name and contact phone number, must be submitted.

All recipes become the property of the Kelseyville Business Association for future publication and promotion.

Judging begins at 1 p.m. and the winners will be announced midday during the Kelseyville Pear Festival, Sept. 25.

Applications are available on the Kelseyville Pear Festival Web site, www.kelseyvillepearfestival.com, click on the contest tab or fill out an application when you deliver your dessert for judging.
