LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Board of Supervisors expects to receive a slate of funding suggestions for caring for Clear Lake when it hears from a board-appointed task force at this week's meeting.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, in the board chambers at the Lake County Courthouse, 255 N. Forbes St., Lakeport. TV8 will broadcast the meeting live.
Beginning at 10:15 a.m., a task force formed earlier this summer to look at short- and long-term funding options to deal with the lake's weed and algae issues will give a report to the board on potential revenue options.
On Oct. 26 task force member George Speake gave an initial review of ideas to the board, with some of the ideas thus far including reallocating county resources and exploring a partial sales tax hike, as Lake County News has reported.
In other board business, the supervisors will hold a closed session to conduct performance evaluations of County Counsel Anita Grant and Health Services Director/Veterans Service Officer Jim Brown.
