Pearl Harbor commemoration, luncheon planned for Dec. 7

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The commemoration of the 69th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 7.


Pearl Harbor Survivors, Chapter 23 North, Lake and Mendocino counties, will observe the anniversary from 9 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at the Pearl Harbor Survivors' Memorial Mast in Library Park on Park Street in Lakeport before going across the street to the council chambers at Lakeport City Hall, 225 Park St., from 9:15 a.m. to 10 a.m.


This year's guest Speaker will be local businessman Bill Kearney, owner of North Lake Medical Pharmacy and a Vietnam veteran.


The public is welcome also to attend the annual luncheon, taking place at TJ’s Downtown Bar & Grill, 370 S. Main St. in Lakeport.


Happy hour starts at 11:30 a.m., with lunch to be served at noon. Lunch selections are a prime rib sandwich or fish and chips. The cost is $16.50, which includes entrée, desert, soft drink, coffee or tea, tax and tip.


Reservations and entrée selection are required by Monday, Nov. 29.
