CLEARLAKE, Calif. – The Clearlake Police Department is investigating the discovery of a man found hanging on Tuesday.
Sgt. Tim Celli said police were dispatched at 7:30 a.m. to a home in the 16000 block of 19th Avenue, where it was reported a man was found hanging.
Celli said that when police arrived on scene they found the body of 18-year-old Jacob Powell of Clearlake hanging from a tree in the home's front yard.
Medical personnel were summoned to the scene but Celli said Powell had died.
Investigators also arrived on scene. While Cell said there are indications that Powell may have taken his own life, the investigation is ongoing.
