The open session of the meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, in the council chambers at Lakeport City Hall, 225 Park St.
The council will convene at 5 p.m. for a closed session discussion with Lakeport Police Chief Brad Rasmussen in which there will be a training for staff and council members regarding how to respond in the event of threats during council meetings, according to City Manager Margaret Silveira.
City Redevelopment/Community Development Department Director Richard Knoll will take to the council a proposed ordinance to approve the Lakeport Redevelopment Agency's participation in the state's Voluntary Alternative Redevelopment Program .
In June, the state Legislature voted to eliminate redevelopment agencies in one bill, AB1 x26, and in a second bill, AB1 x27, voted to create the voluntary redevelopment program in which agencies could agree to make payments to the state to keep operating.
Knoll's report said the amount Lakeport would be required to pay hasn't yet been determined.
The council also will hold a closed session to discuss a pending case of litigation, Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3 and Lakeport Police Officers Association v. City of Lakeport, Lakeport City Council (Lake County Superior Court Case No. CV410232) , and property negotiations regarding Green Ranch.
