LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The wine club for the Clear Lake Performing Arts, sponsors of the annual Lake County Home Wine Makers Festival, is looking for donations of winegrapes to assist it in its efforts to provide the basis for its event.
Proceeds from the Winefest go to fund CLPA's music support activities, including the Lake County Symphony and Youth and Junior Youth orchestras, scholarships and other music programs.
Ed Bublitz, president of CLPA, said his amateur winemakers will handle all details of converting donated fruit to wine, including picking, crushing and pressing, fermentation and bottling.
He said small niches, including row-ends after machine harvesting, make ideal donations for his home wine makers group.
All varietals – red or white – are welcome.
