If you don't have an old car to cruise around town in, try spending a leisurely day at Grace Harvest Car, Motorcycle and Tractor Show on Saturday, Oct. 8.
The show will take place from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 6716 Live Oak Drive in Kelseyville, about a quarter mile past the Highway Patrol Office at Grace Church.
A pancake breakfast will be served starting at 8:30 a.m.; the breakfast is free if you enter a vehicle.
Throughout the day there will be live music, and tri-tip, hot dogs and hamburgers will be available for lunch.
All pre-1979 cars are accepted as well as any year motorcycle and tractors for a fee of $20 if entry is postmarked by Oct. 1 and then $25 after that and at the show.
Entry forms are available at Kelseyville Lumber, as well as downloadable from www.HarvestCarShow.com.
Plaques will be given for motorcycles of all years; pre-1979 classics, street rods, rat rods and long distance.
There also will be plaques given for best engine, best paint and a trophy given for best of show. Dash plaques will be given for the first 100 registered vehicles.
This event is free to the public so stop in and check out the vintage vehicles and talk to the owners who are always glad to discuss the finer points of their projects. Some of these vehicles have been in their owners' families a lifetime while others have built over months and years of hard work and dedication.
