LAKEPORT, Calif. – Police believe that a man whose body was found in Forbes Creek late Tuesday morning died as the result of an accident.

Lakeport Police Chief Brad Rasmussen said his officers responded to a report of a man down in the creek bed off of S. Brush Street, between Armstrong and Martin streets, at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday.

When officers arrived they determined the male subject was deceased, he said.

While the investigation was continuing, “It appears to be an accidental death at this point, Rasmussen said.

Rasmussen said the man is believed to have been associated with a nearby address on S. Brush Street.
