THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE HAS UPDATED THE TIME OF RESPONSE FROM 8:38 A.M. TO 5:38 A.M.
LOCH LOMOND, Calif. – Officials are searching for the suspects in an early morning home invasion robbery and vehicle theft that occurred on Tuesday in Loch Lomond.
At 5:38 a.m. Tuesday Lake County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on Loch Lomond Road for a reported home invasion robbery, according to Sgt. Steve Brooks.
Brooks said the victim woke up at approximately 5 a.m. due to hearing a noise coming from inside the residence.
The man got out of bed to investigate the noise and located three male subjects standing in a hallway. All three were wearing dark clothing and ski masks, Brooks said.
The victim reported that one of the suspects was in possession of a firearm, according to Brooks. When the suspects noticed the victim they immediately attacked and overpowered him.
The suspects said they were looking for marijuana and cash and started ransacking the residence. Taken from the residence were electronics, cash and the victim’s vehicle, which was a 2007 blue Toyota Sienna, Brooks said.
He reported that the vehicle was recovered by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in the Kelseyville area on Wednesday morning, just before Brooks issued his report.
The victim received medical attention at the scene by Cal Fire personnel. Brooks said the man later was transported by private party to the St. Helena Clearlake Hospital for additional medical treatment.
The incident occurred within hours of another armed home invasion robbery that occurred in Upper Lake, which resulted in a chase, arrest of two subjects and continuing search for a third, as Lake County News has reported.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have information regarding this case is encouraged to contact Detective John Drewrey at 707-262-4223.
