KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – “Catch the small town magic” is the Kelseyville Pear Festival poster theme that well-known local artist Carolyn Morris has created using oils on canvas.

The scene captures the essence of a country town nestled below Mt. Konocti and surrounded by a rich agricultural heritage.

Her painting depicts the spirit and traditions along Main Street where all the Pear Festival action takes place in September.

Morris is a longtime Kelseyville resident who has been painting in the Americana style for many years.

Posters of her painting, as well as note cards, will be available for sale at the Kelseyville Marketplace booth, located in front of the Pear Pavilion, on Saturday, Sept. 24.

The original oil painting is currently on view at the Saw Shop Restaurant, Main Street, Kelseyville.

This year marks the 24h anniversary of the Kelseyville Pear Festival.

The festival fills the entire downtown. It is a jam-packed day with a pancake breakfast, a parade, tractors, music, food, entertainment, a Horse Faire, Kid’s Town and, new this year, a wine tasting tent which features Lake County’s finest wines.

The weekend begins Friday night, Sept. 23, with a barbecue dinner and concert under the stars at the Wildhurst Tasting Room Courtyard.

Beloved local performer David Neft and legendary singing cowboy Dave Stamey top the evening's entertainment.

Morris’s original oil painting will be auctioned early in the evening and proceeds will benefit Kelseyville schools.
