LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Board of Supervisors this week will host a swearing-in ceremony for two new county correctional officers and consider what steps can be taken to deal with potential fire hazards.
The board will meet beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, in the board chambers on the first floor of the Lake County Courthouse, 255 N. Forbes St., Lakeport.

At 9:06 a.m., Sheriff Brian Martin will administer the oath of office to new correctional officers Nicholas Yamamoto and Kristina Tighe.
At 9:20 a.m. the board will consider and discuss possible steps to be taken pertaining to fire hazard mitigation.
Board Chair Rob Brown and Anthony Farrington are requesting the discussion “due to the growing concern of weed, brush and bush hazards around the county.”
On Tuesday, the board also will consider continuing emergency declarations for the Rocky, Jerusalem, Valley and Clayton fires.

CONSENT AGENDA
7.1: Approve letter of support for Lake County Law Library and authorize the chair to sign.
7.2: Adopt resolution pertaining to tax revenue exchange for annexation to County Service Area No.2 – Spring Valley Water System (Annexation – LAFCO Project # 2016-01).
7.3: Approve leave of absence request for Selena Jackson, substance abuse counselor, from Nov. 1, 2016, to Nov. 28, 2016, or until such time as the Behavioral Health Department has completed a recruitment and is ready to make an offer of employment to fill the position, whichever date is sooner.

7.6: Adopt resolution authorizing the director, Public Works Department, to sign a notice of completion for work performed under agreement dated June 21, 2016 for Lake County Fire Damage Metal Beam Guard Rail Replacement Bid No. 15-17.
7.7: Approve the first amendment to agreement between the county of Lake and county of Mendocino to provide technical services for Lake County radio systems to increase reimbursable rates for technical services and support; and authorize the chair to sign.
7.8: Sitting as the Board of Directors, Lake County Watershed Protection District, approve amendment five to the agreement between Lake County Watershed Protection District and Paragon Partners Ltd., for appraisal and relocation assistance services for the Middle Creek Flood Damage Reduction and Ecosystem Restoration Project, for an increase not to exceed $11,472.52 and a new contract amount of $138,072.52; and authorize the chair to sign.
