The regular meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at Lakeport City Hall, 225 Park St.
It will be preceded at 4 p.m. by a council and staff workshop on the 2008-09 budget, during which discussion and possible action on the budget will take place.
In recent weeks, departments have presented their budgets to the council at special afternoon meetings. City Manager Jerry Gillham told Lake County News during a previous interview that he expects a final budget to be accepted this month.
On its fairly short regular meeting agenda, the council will once again consider a new ordinance correcting and amending the city's zoning ordinance regarding bed and breakfast inn regulations.
The newest version of the ordinance, which has made several appearances before the council over the past several months, will limit the maximum number of guest bedrooms in a bed and breakfast to five, with a maximum occupancy of four guests per room.
The council also will consider a resolution regarding updated fees for city services, which was held over from a previous meeting.
In a closed session following the meeting, the council will discuss a lawsuit against the city by Superior Acquisitions. As Lake County News has reported, the company has filed the suit, claiming the city breached agreements when it sold the Vista Point Shopping Center property to developer Matt Riveras rather than to Superior Acquisitions.
