LAKEPORT, Calif. – This week the Board of Supervisors will give the go ahead for a resolution authorizing a funding application for the Anderson Springs sewer project and appoint members to a new community council.
The board will meet beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, in the board chambers on the first floor of the Lake County Courthouse, 255 N. Forbes St., Lakeport.
The meeting can be watched live on Channel 8 and online at http://www.co.lake.ca.us/Government/Boards/Board_of_Supervisors/calendar.htm . Accompanying board documents, the agenda and archived board meeting videos also are available at that link.
In an untimed item on Tuesday, the supervisors, sitting jointly as the board of the Lake County Sanitation District, will consider a resolution authorizing and designating Special District Administrator Jan Coppinger to submit a funding agreement to the State Water Resources Control Board for construction of a new sewer system for the community of Anderson Springs in the amount of $7,436,000.
Sen. Mike McGuire first announced the state funding to help the Anderson Springs sewer project last year, as Lake County News has reported.
Coppinger’s report to the board said that the State Water Resources Control Board granted a $564,000 planning grant for engineering, design and survey work. “That work is nearing completion and we are ready to apply for construction funding.”
She said the estimated cost of the sewer system is $10,545,895. Her department is applying for a grant of $7,436,000 from the State Water Resources Control Board, $1.5 million from the California Department of Housing and Community Development and $983,395 from the United States Department of Agriculture.
In another untimed meeting, the board will consider appointing the applicants for the five seats on the newly formed Scotts Valley Community Advisory Council.
Those applying for the seats are Rhonda Armstrong, Robert Eisenhour, Tod Patten, Robert Ruddock and Karole Ward.
In other business on Tuesday, the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission will present to Sheriff Brian Martin an executive certificate.
That certificate is presented to full-time peace officers who have been a department head for at least two years and have fulfilled a number of other requirements, including the completion of the Executive Development Course.
Also on Tuesday, at 9:10 a.m. the board will present a proclamation designating the week of April 9 to 15 as Public Safety Dispatcher Week; and at 9:35 a.m. will present the annual Employee Service Awards.
