MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – This week the Middletown Area Town Hall will get an update on a safety project on Highway 175, hear about grants and committee reports.
MATH will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at the Middletown Community Center, 21256 Washington St.
Meetings are open to the community, and offer the opportunity for additional public input on items not included on the agenda.
One of the top agenda items for Thursday’s meeting is an update on the proposed $12.5 million safety project a 2.5-mile portion of Highway 175 from Putah Creek to Dry Creek.
Caltrans has deemed the project necessary due to a fatal collision rate in that area that's five times the state average, according to Jaime Matteoli, Caltrans’ Lake County project manager.
Matteoli will be on hand Thursday to offer the update. He had given a previous presentation to MATH on the project in November.
Jeff Lucas also is scheduled to give MATH an update on the Community Development Block Grant Program.
In other business, MATH members are set to approve proposed bylaw revisions, discuss nominating a “person of the year” and MATH projects for 2017.
Also on Thursday, MATH will get committee reports on the Valley fire memorial and the Roger Miller Resort and Farming.
The MATH Board includes Chair Claude Brown, Vice Chair Linda Diehl-Darms, Secretary Fletcher Thornton, and members Lisa Kaplan and Gregg Van Oss.
MATH – established by resolution of the Lake County Board of Supervisors on Dec. 12, 2006 – is a municipal advisory council serving the residents of Anderson Springs, Cobb, Coyote Valley (including Hidden Valley Lake), Long Valley and Middletown.
Meetings are subject to videotaping.
