LAKEPORT, Calif. – The city of Lakeport’s Measure Z Advisory Committee is set to hold its first meeting as it begins the work of overseeing how funds from the new sales tax measure are spent.
The committee will meet beginning at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, in the council chambers at Lakeport City Hall, 225 Park St.
The Lakeport City Council formed the committee to monitor the spending from the 1-percent Measure Z sales tax, which city residents approved in November.
At the Wednesday meeting, the committee will introduce newly elected members and receive nominations for chair and vice chair.
It also will set its 2017-18 calendar of meetings. Proposed meeting dates are Wednesday, July 26; Wednesday, Oct. 25; Wednesday, Jan. 24 (tentative); and Wednesday, April 25.
Members also will review the committee’s role and get background from city staff Measure Z.
Also on the agenda, the committee will receive a presentation and review proposed Measure Z revenues and expenditures for the 2017/2018 Budget.
