Council to discuss city general plan and business plan

LAKEPORT – The Lakeport City Council's first meeting of the year will focus on its general plan update and business plan.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, in the council chambers at Lakeport City Hall, 225 Park St.

The council is due to hear a report and hold a discussion on the general plan.

The city is now in the process of moving forward with finalizing its general plan, which it presented in draft form in two public workshops held early in December, as Lake County News has reported.

The deadline for written comments on the plan was Dec. 18, and the city is now responding to those comments.

Community Development Director Mark Brannigan said in December that final versions of the plan and its environmental impact report will be prepared and given to the Lakeport Planning Commission sometime in this month or next, and to the City Council at some point afterward.

Also up for discussion is the city's business plan, which outlines city projects with timelines. The council will discuss updating the plan.
