HIGHWAY 29 FORCE MAIN PROJECT


ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Separate sealed bids for the construction of the city of Lakeport Highway 29 Force Main Project will be received at the Office of the City Clerk at City Hall, 225 Park St., Lakeport, CA 95453 until 11 a.m. on Dec. 14, 2016, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.

Bids received after the time specified will be returned unopened. An extension of the bid time will be given if there are any material changes, additions, or deletions to the invitation for bids within 72 hours of the scheduled bid opening time.

The project consists of the horizontal directional drilling of approximately 600 feet of 18-inch fusible PVC casing and installation of approximately 600 feet of 12-inch fusible PVC force main within the casing beneath Highway 29, along with tie‑ins at both ends to the existing sewer system.

The construction cost range is $550,000 to $575,000.

A pre-bid job site visit will take place on Dec. 6, 2016, starting at 10 a.m. at 818 Lakeport Blvd., Lakeport, CA 95453. Bidders are encouraged, but are not required, to attend.

The city of Lakeport is using a third-party Web site, www.CIPLIST.com to advertise these Bidding Documents. CIPLIST.com is a free service provided to review and download project Bidding Documents. CIPLIST.com is the only Internet Web site for prospective bidders to obtain project information of official City Bidding Documents.

Bidders are notified that financing for this project is provided pursuant to the Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act (7 U.S.C. Section 1921 et seq.) and that as allowed in Public Contract Code Section 22300, this contract does not provide for substitution of securities for any monies withheld by the Owner to ensure performance under this contract. Bidders are further notified that this contract does not permit retainage to be placed in escrow nor to be invested for the benefit of the contractor.

Prospective Bidders shall be licensed Contractors in the state of California and shall be skilled and regularly engaged in the general class or type of work called for under the Contract. Each bidder shall have a Class A California Contractor’s license.
