LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – “Celtic Knot,” the 46th quilt block on the Lake County Quilt Trail, has been installed at Mountain Vista Middle School, 6885 Konocti Road in Kelseyville.
This quilt block was placed on the Mountain Vista Middle School gymnasium to honor the memory of Eva Scott, a beloved teacher and coach at the middle school.
The sponsor of “Celtic Knot” is Shannon Fontana, a 2013 graduate of Kelseyville High School. Deb Ingalls, a Kelseyville High teacher, helped Fontana organize the sponsorship of the quilt block.
Fontana’s life was greatly influenced by Scott during her middle school years. In becoming close friends with Scott, Fontana learned that the Celtic knot was her favorite design.
Scott’s husband Randy and grandson Wyatt were able to join Fontana on the day of the installation of “Celtic Knot.”
The legacy of Eva Scott as a caring educator will be remembered by the stunning “Celtic Knot” design.
The GPS location of “Celtic Knot” is Latitude: 38.97, Longitude: -122.81.
The Lake County Quilt Trail is an agricultural and tourism project designed to promote community pride.
