NICE, Calif. – Dollar General's new store in Nice will hold its grand opening this weekend.

The store, located at 3577 E. State Highway 20, will mark the occasion beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, according to company spokeswoman Mary Kathryn Patterson.

Patterson said the store had its “soft” opening on Jan. 31.

The store's grand opening event will feature free prizes and special deals. The first 100 adult shoppers at the store will receive a $10 Dollar General gift card and the first 200 shoppers will receive a Dollar General tote bag, among other giveaways.

“Dollar General is committed to delivering a pleasant shopping experience that includes a convenient location, a wide assortment of merchandise and great prices on quality products,” said Dan Nieser, Dollar General’s senior vice president of real estate and store development.  “We hope our Nice customers will enjoy shopping at Dollar General’s new location.”

The Goodlettsville, Tenn.-based corporation is the nation's largest “small-box” discount retailer. It offers food, housewares, seasonal items, cleaning supplies, basic apparel and health/beauty products from national name brands and private brands.

The company also is preparing to open another store in Clearlake Oaks. Patterson said that the store is tentatively scheduled to open its doors in April.

County officials have confirmed that Dollar General is in the early stages of considering store locations in three other county communities – Kelseyville, Loch Lomond and Middletown, as Lake County News has reported.
