LAKEPORT, Calif. – An AARP Driver Safety class will be held on Monday, Jan. 14, and Tuesday, Jan. 15.

The class will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days at the Lakeport Senior Activity Center, 527 Konocti Ave.

This is an eight-hour course, provided by trained volunteers, needed to be eligible for an automobile insurance good-driver discount.

Check with your insurance company regarding discount information – some companies begin offering the discount at 50 years of age.

You must attend both days to complete the eight-hour class, and you must also repeat the course every three years to continue receiving the insurance discount.

Please be sure to have your AARP member number with you to receive the member discount.

The cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members, with the class size limited to the first 20 individuals.
