Youth Tribal Olympics take place June 27

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lake County Tribal Health Consortium will host the Youth Tribal Olympics on Friday, June 27.

The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Lake County Fairgrounds, 401 Martin St. in Lakeport.

The health competition among friends will promote diabetes prevention, and alcohol- and drug-free lifestyles.

Featured events will include T-ball, water balloon toss, softball throw, sack race, three-on-three basketball, 25-yard run and the tug-of-war.

The opening prayer will take place at 8:35 a.m.

In addition to the competitions, there will be a dunk tank, Fill-Up the Clown, face painting, a raffle and lunch.

Participating tribes are Big Valley Rancheria, Elem Indian Colony, Habematolel, Middletown Rancheria, Robinson Rancheria and Scotts Valley Rancheria.
