REGIONAL: Mendocino homesteading fair planned in July

NORTH COAST, Calif. – The Anderson Valley Foodshed and KZYX will present the sixth annual Not-So-Simple Living Fair July 24 to 26 at the Mendocino County Fairgrounds in Boonville.

The event will feature three days of rural living skills education, and back-t-the-land demonstrations.

This is a family event featuring wholesome local food, socially conscious vendors, dancing out under the stars and much more.

The weekend features a wide variety of workshops, including alternative energy, beekeeping, dairy culturing, natural building and fermentation.

Friday night starts out with the Gypsy Campout Cabaret. Local talent performs fireside. Please bring an instrument, story, or talent to share.

Saturday night's celebration begins with “the world's best potluck,” followed by music with Joe Craven and MamaJoWali.

Sunday's keynote speech will be given by Starhawk.

Tickets are available at www.brownpapertickets.com and cost $30 per day or $40 for the weekend presale, and $35 per day or $50 for the weekend at the gate.

For Saturday night only, tickets cost $15. Camping is $10 per car per night. No dogs, please.
