LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lakeport branch of the Lake County Library, located at 1425 N. High St. in Lakeport, will be closed June 20 to 27 while the building is being reroofed.
The library will reopen when construction is complete but no later than Tuesday, June 27, at 10:15 a.m.
County librarian Christopher Veach announced the closure after determining that “fumes from the roofing materials make the library unsafe for patrons and staff. Construction noise and activity also make the facility unsuitable for providing library service during the construction project.”
The closure will affect some of Lakeport Library’s regularly scheduled programs and events this week. Storytime in Library Park at 10:15 a.m. Friday will happen as usual.
Lakeport Library’s Lego Club will be canceled this week. All teen events at Lakeport Library this week also are canceled.
Library patrons will still have access to library services at Redbud Library, 14785 Burns Valley Road in Clearlake, Middletown Library at 21256 Washington St. and Upper Lake Library at 310 Second Street, and online from the library Web site http://library.lakecountyca.gov .
Patrons also will be able to return their checked-out items at the outdoor book return at the Lakeport branch.
