LOWER LAKE, Calif. – The Lake County Democratic Club met on June 14 with a potluck dinner to celebrate June Pride Month.
The dinner was followed by three local speakers.
They included Joey Luiz, Board of Equalization District 2 liaison for Fiona Ma, who spoke on the many issues facing the LGBTQ community under this administration.
Clearlake Vice Mayor Bruno Sabatier announced a Clearlake June Pride Month proclamation will be read at Clearlake City Hall at 6 p.m. June 22.
Harold Riley, a talk show host on KPFZ on Wednesdays from 1 to 2 p.m., spoke on the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in NYC that ushered in 48 years of activism in the gay community.
Lake County Democratic Club meetings are open to the public. Membership is open to registered Democrats.
