Toastmasters Club hosts new officer installation
LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Lake County’s Toastmasters Club 8731, The Tenacious Talkers, conducted its annual club officer installation ceremony on July 14.

The Tenacious Talkers Club was chartered on Jan. 1, 1997, and is now celebrating 20 years as a club.

This past year the Tenacious Talkers led by President Eric Shaul achieved recognition as a President’s Distinguished Club for accomplishing a high number of education, leadership and membership goals.

Shaul also served as the Area G10 Director, which oversees regional clubs including Ukiah, Fort Bragg and Cloverdale.

He performed both positions superbly and the Club praised him for his leadership skills and for keeping both the club and the area moving forward with a high level of achievement.

The installation of new club officers was conducted by another Tenacious Talker and newly elected Division G director, Dallas Gouldberg, who welcomed newly appointed President Dean Gotham, Vice President of Education Greg Scott, Vice President of Membership Jim Goetz, Secretary Phyllis Hoffman, Treasurer Lacie Thorn, Vice President of Public Relations Rick White and Sgt. at Arms Roger Gouldberg into service for the 2017-2018 term.

The club also recognized Treasurer Lacie Thorn as the 2016-17 Club Toastmaster of the Year for being a key contributor for the club accomplishing its goals.

Toastmasters International was started in 1924 by its founder Dr. Ralph C. Smeldey at the YMCA in Orange County.

Currently there are more than 13,280 clubs in over 116 countries with a membership of more than 270,000 people.

The focus of the program through its member clubs is to support the member’s growth in leadership and communications.

The meeting starts promptly at 6:15 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m. Attendees should arrive early.
