Lakeport Women’s Civic Club begins new season of meetings Sept. 1
LAKEPORT, Calif. – A new season of fundraising and merriment will ensue on Friday, Sept. 1, as the Lakeport Women’s Civic Club meets for lunch at Riviera Hills Country Club.

The gathering begins at 11 a.m. and a general business meeting is called to order at 11:30 a.m. An always-outstanding meal is served at 12:30 p.m.

The September featured speaker is Terry Knight, the longtime outdoor life columnist for the Lake County Record-Bee.

Knight will relate a few of the many fascinating things that he has learned about Lake County history.

The Lakeport Women’s Civic Club is in its 97th year of raising money for numerous causes all around Lake County.

By means of a sound investment and activities like their annual Mad Hatter’s event and Holiday Craft Fair, the club has donated literally tens of thousands of dollars to organizations like Lake County Military Funeral Honors Team, Westside Community Park, Sutter Lakeside Hospital, Northlake Adult Day Care and Operation Tango Mike.

If you enjoy lunch with the girls and the opportunity to put some of your well-honed organizational skills to use alongside some of the sharpest, most energetic and talented women in the county, then you will want to join them.

The per-person cost for lunch and dessert is $15.

The deadline to RSVP is Aug. 28. Please call Stephanie Codling at 707-994-3305 to make your reservation.
