The Good Farm Fund offers grants to farmers

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Calling all farmers: The Good Farm Fund, a North Coast Opportunities project, has $30,000 in grants available this year to fund local, farm projects that will benefit the local food economy.

However, they need farmers interested in applying for a grant to fill out the application and return it to the committee by Oct. 1 – less than two weeks away.

The application and its guidelines are available at http://www.goodfarmfund.org/farm-grant-program/.

The page also has a list of all the grants previously awarded to give applicants a good idea of what type of projects they fund – from a computer to help keep farm records, new hives for local beekeepers, new greenhouses, cold storage for CSAs, new tires for a delivery van, fencing and many more.

Applications are due or must be postmarked by Oct. 1 and mailed to Caroline Radice, North Coast Opportunities, 413 N. State St., Ukiah CA 95482.

Awards will be announced at the Fourth Annual Winter Feast on Dec. 5 at BARRA Winery.
