State officials completes ‘Future of Mobility’ study

Caltrans, in cooperation with Transportation Sustainability Research Center of UC Berkeley, has just completed the Future of Mobility study.

The objective of this project was to explore the impact of technological, social, economic and environmental change on Caltrans' long-term planning process for transportation in California.

The results from this study will ultimately be used to inform the scenario development for the California Transportation Plan 2050.

The California Transportation Plan is a statewide, long-range transportation plan that provides a vision with a set of goals, policies, and recommendations to help guide transportation-related decisions and investments that will lead to a safe, sustainable, integrated, and efficient multimodal transportation system to enhance California’s economy and livability.

The finalized version of this study can be found on the Office of State Planning’s homepage at http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/tpp/offices/osp/index.html.
