LUCERNE, Calif. – The Lucerne Alpine Senior Center is expecting a large delivery of food and commodities from the Redwood Empire Food Bank on the morning of Friday, Aug. 3.
It will take some time to organize and sort the delivery, but it should be ready for pickup by clients afternoon, according to center officials.
This giveaway is expected to consist principally of nonperishable food items and commodities.
Clients should bring their own bags and/or boxes, as they are in very short supply.
Food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, with numbers assigned upon arrival. However, there should be plenty for all, if Thursday’s delivery was any indication.
The giveaway is contingent upon roadways being open between Lucerne and Santa Rosa.
For more information call the center at 707-274-8779.
The Lucerne Alpine Senior Center is located at 3985 Country Club Drive, between Ninth and 10th avenues in Lucerne.
