LAKEPORT, Calif. – For nearly 20 years, First 5 Lake has funded valuable community services benefiting young children and their families in Lake County using funds derived from California Proposition 10’s voter-mandated tax on tobacco products.
Program grants frequently range from $20,000 to $115,000 per year.
The First 5 Lake Commission is now seeking proposals for one-, two- or three-year grant projects addressing one or more of the following goals:
1. Increased access to parenting education, meeting the diverse needs of all Lake County parents of children 0-to-5.
2. Family networks of support are strengthened and enriching social connections are increased for all Lake County families with children 0-to-5.
3. Increased access to high-quality, developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed child care and early education for all Lake County children 0-to-5.
4. Increased access to health and therapeutic services benefiting all Lake County children prenatally through age 5.
5. Increased access to an integrated, strategic and user-friendly service delivery system that is continually adapting to enable our community to give all Lake County children the best possible start in life.

A non-mandatory pre-bidder’s conference will be held on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 10:30 a.m. in the Round Room at Mendocino College’s Lake Campus, 2565 Parallel Drive in Lakeport.
The deadline to submit proposals is Jan. 10, 2019, at 5 p.m.
