LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Lake County Social Services reported that CalFresh benefits for March will be issued on a single day, Friday, March 1, for most households.

Normally, monthly CalFresh issuances are staggered from the first through the 10th of the month.

The early issuance of the March benefits is a one-time event. Social Services said it’s to help alleviate some of the gap between benefit issuances caused by the early issuance of February benefits on Jan. 16 due to the federal government shutdown.

If households need help with food sooner, they can visit Lake County Social Services at 15975 Anderson Ranch Parkway, Lower Lake, to pick up a “Food Resources” list from reception, or find the list online here.
