4-H petting zoo featured at Pumpkin Festival and Dia de Los Muertos celebration

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – On Saturday, Oct. 5, the public is invited to get up close and personal with the local farm animals of the members of the Blue Heron 4-H Club.

The petting zoo will be included as part of the inaugural Pumpkin Festival and Dia de Los Muertos Festival and will be hosted by 4-H All Star candidate, Robin Adams.

Adams is presently a junior at Kelseyville High School and has been a 4-Her for over 10 years and FFA for two.

The petting zoo will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., located on the lawn at Courthouse Museum Park on Main Street in Lakeport and will include Nigerian Dwarf goats, rabbits and guinea pigs, as well as a friendly Great Pyrenees dog.

A demonstration of "teaching your dog great tricks" will also be featured at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

The inaugural Pumpkin Festival and Dia De Los Muertos Celebration is a free family fun event from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In addition to the petting zoo, the event will include crafts, food and merchandise vendors, music and more.
