CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Allison Olson, a professional advocate for Republican policies at the California State Capitol, will give an update on current legislation in California at the Lake County Republican Women Federated’s Oct. 9 luncheon meeting at Howard's Grotto, Clearlake.
Olson joined the California Federation of Republican Women as an advocate in 2009. She tracks and analyzes California state legislation, speaks to Republican women’s clubs up and down the state, and keeps the members of the federation educated and informed on what is happening in Sacramento.
She is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, with a degree in political science. Olson was the deputy finance director for the McClintock for Congress campaign before coming to work for the California Republican Women Federated.
No stranger to Republican volunteer organizations, she chaired the Davis College Republicans while at UC Davis and founded Babes for Bush in 2004 while in high school in conjunction with the Contra Costa County Republican Party.
She was awarded a fellowship with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies from April of 2007 to May of 2008. During that time, Olson studied in Israel and Washington, D. C., with leading counter-terror experts.
Olson also works part-time as the executive director of the Down Syndrome Information Alliance. The DSIA is a nonprofit serving 8 Northern California counties with the mission to provide support and resources to empower individuals with Down syndrome, their families and our community.
She and husband Rob live in Woodland with their three children, June, Rowan and Liam and two dogs, Spartacus and Minerva.
All women and men are welcome at Lake County Republican Women Federated meetings by reservation only. However, membership is open only to registered Republican women, but many registered Republican men join and are active as associate members.
If you would like to join us for a Sacramento update, please phone 707-998-3280 no later than Oct. 4 to place your luncheon reservation ($20 per person), and provide your contact phone number. A made reservation is a paid reservation as the organization always must pay for number of reservations made. Attendees should check in by 11:30 a.m.
