LOWER LAKE, Calif. – The Lower Lake Historical School Preservation Committee will conduct a cemetery tour followed tea and refreshments on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m.
The tour starts at 2 p.m. at the Lower Lake Cemetery, on Lake Street north of the Lower Lake High and elementary schools. Turn into the entrance gate and follow the road to the main parking area. There will be a guided walk to a few historic family plots and stories of Lower Lake pioneer families.
The tour will be followed at 3 p.m. by tea and refreshments in the Weaver Auditorium at the Lower Lake Schoolhouse Museum.
There will be a slideshow of historic Lower Lake families and the original cemetery log book of 1867 will be on display.
The event will occur rain or shine, and is free. Participants are advised to wear sturdy shoes for uneven ground at the cemetery.
