Toilet paper shortage impacts Clearlake Oaks County Water District

CLEARLAKE OAKS, Calif. – The Clearlake Oaks County Water District reported that its sewer system is being inundated with paper towels and rags.

The district said putting towels and rags into the sewer system will cause the system to fail.

A sewer system failure, in turn, will expose district operators “to a greater, unnecessary risk” while trying to keep these objects out of the system.

“Please, please, please only flush toilet paper, otherwise, the District could be facing another whole level of a health crisis,” the district said on its website.
