Cal Water responds to governor’s executive order protecting against water shutoff

LUCERNE, Calif. – Following Gov. Gavin Newsom’s executive order protecting homes and small businesses from water shutoffs, California Water Service Group offered its support and announced the steps it is taking to help customers.

“Cal Water supports Gov. Newsom’s decision, as we agree that water is essential, especially as we navigate through this unprecedented, challenging time,” said Martin A. Kropelnicki, president and CEO of California Water Service Group.

“That’s why on March 12, 2020, we announced that we had begun voluntarily suspending water service disconnections and restoring service to those who were previously disconnected,” he said.

“We will continue to support the communities we serve to help ensure everyone has the safe, reliable water service they need during this critical time,” said Kropelnicki.

In Lake County, Cal Water supplies water for the Northshore community of Lucerne.
