Pyska: An awesome responsibility

Two years ago I made a plan to run a positive, fact-filled campaign to inspire real change in Lake County. I believe in holding ourselves to a high standard of integrity, and that win or lose, we are still friends and neighbors. It is my hope that you, the voters of District 5, have found that I have stuck to my principals, and trust that the way that I have run my campaign is exactly how I will lead as your new supervisor.

We have a rare opportunity to set ambitious priorities in economic development, health and safety, and disaster mitigation by leveraging the $7.5 million in cannabis funding that has the potential to significantly impact life in our community. This is the time to think big, collaborate creatively, and build the capacity that we need to achieve long-term goals and new priorities. I intend to make absolutely sure that these tax-revenue funds are used as the voters intended, to elevate life in Lake County for all our residents.

It has been an exciting journey these past few years, and an absolute pleasure meeting so many of you and listening to your ideas, concerns and priorities. I want to thank everyone who has supported me through this journey, from across District 5 and countywide, to our state electeds. My campaign has been 100-percent powered by local volunteers who also believe in the power of our community, the bright future that lies ahead, and my ability to lead.

This is an awesome responsibility, and I promise you that I am ready to serve and fully committed to doing everything necessary to make Lake County stronger, safer and more vibrant than ever.

I would be honored to win your vote on Nov. 3.

Brunetti: Kearney will get the job done

I’ve known Bill Kearney for many years and have the highest regard for his leadership. Bill isn’t flashy or glib. He doesn’t take selfies or claim credit for another’s work. What makes Bill such an effective leader is his ability to make really good decisions.

As president of the board of directors, Bill’s leadership was instrumental in saving Lakeside Hospital from bankruptcy. His actions helped preserve local medical services for thousands of Lake County residents.

Bill ran a successful local pharmacy business for 40 years – providing the kinds of personal service you don’t get at a corporate chain drug store.

Bill Kearney is a workhorse who will get the job done for us on the county board. That’s the kind of supervisor we need to help Lake County rebuild and recover.

Please join me in supporting Bill Kearney for Lake County supervisor in District 5.

Lincoln: Kearney known for professional compassion

Six years ago my mother was near the end of her battle with cancer. She was well attended by Hospice nurses who were dedicated to making her as comfortable as they could with the tools that were available to them.

My mother was experiencing reasonable pain relief from oral medications, but toward the end she could not ingest the medications and her nurse said that it would be beneficial for her to have a “compounded morphine solution” to keep her pain under control. She was referring to a cream compound that only a pharmacy licensed for compounding could produce.

The nurse told me that there was no pharmacy in Lake County that could compound that cream. I informed her that I believed Bill Kearney was a compounding pharmacist and she should contact him.

It was late at night and the pharmacy was closed, but she called his after-hours number and informed him of the need. He left his house, drove to his pharmacy and compounded the medication that my mother needed. Then he personally delivered it to her caregiver who was attending her that night in her home.

My mother passed the next morning, Christmas Eve, peacefully and pain-free.

The extra effort that Bill took in this instance was not an experience unique to my family. He displayed that kind of professional compassion throughout his career as a pharmacist.

That is one of many reasons that I support Bill Kearney for District 5 supervisor. I hope you will, too.

Cox and Humphrey: Encouraging votes for Pedroncelli

We would encourage all Upper Lake School District voters to vote for Claudine Pedroncelli to fill one of the two seats that are open at the moment. Claudine is an incumbent.

Claudine has been on the Upper Lake School Board for 10 years now and has been supportive of new programs that have been introduced during her time on the board.

These programs have helped curb absenteeism by creating a curriculum that is exciting to kids who will benefit from more variety of options including green construction, green agriculture and traditional college-bound.

As well as the Upper Lake School Board, Claudine is an active member of the Upper Lake Senior Activity Center and the Silver Foundation.
