Over 800 people attended the Halloween party at Clear Lake High School sponsored by the Lakeport Kiwanis Club.
Several groups assisted in making this night a success. The Lakeport Kiwanis extends its thanks to the follow for providing their assistance.
Students from the Clear Lake High School California Scholastic Federation Club, student government officers and other eager students ran games for children and insured that each child had a fun time.
Clear Lake High School teacher Jim Rogers arranged for their help and accompanied them on Halloween night.
The following provided much-needed items: Mary’s Veggie Stand, Renker Farms, Seely Orchards, United Christian Parish and McDonald’s of Lakeport.
Dave Norris of the Lakeport Unified School District provided access to the needed facilities.
Both Lakeconews.com and the Lake County Record-Bee publicized the Halloween party to the community.
Thank you all for your help.
Jennifer Richardson is president of the Lakeport Kiwanis Club.

I just want to say, we all did a great job throughout this campaign, and we should be very proud. The sheriff did an amazing job handling the hectic schedule we put in front of him and he did it with grace, poise and a professionalism that proved to me beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is a true man of character.
Trust me – as the event coordinator, the man handled a work load that would have stunned a team of oxen in its tracks. We need to give him all the credit he deserves. Rodney Mitchell and his wife Becky are amazing, and an amazing team.
It has been an honor to work on this campaign. With all the slings and fiery arrows that came our way, I believe we were committed, because of the sheriff's example, to taking the higher ground. Regardless of the disappointing outcome, I know we can be proud of what we accomplished: standing for what is right and good in our county.
It has been an absolute blessing to get to know the people in my community and know that there really are those who are willing and unafraid to stand up for what they believe in, come what may. It was a surprise to me that I would have a chance to gain lifelong friends from this experience, which I have,
and for that ... I will be forever grateful.
And all I thought I was going to be doing was hanging signs!
It has been a challenge, but thank you for allowing me to be of service,
Mary-Grace McMahon lives in Middletown, Calif.
