Helen is a long-time resident of Lake County and she is an excellent candidate for District 1 supervisor.
She is a well-respected member of our community, whom I have known for many years.
Helen will bring an understanding of the needs of our county, the need to streamline the county permit process, the need to safeguard our natural resources and the need for responsible budgeting.
She supports our law enforcement and first responders. She has volunteered her time in service to our community on many occasions through the years.
Please join me in voting for Helen Owen for District 1 supervisor.

Helen is not nor has she ever been a bureaucrat. She will look at the way government operates with caution and not assume the position of government as usual. Helen is not afraid to rattle cages, especially when it is apparent to her that a decision will negatively impact the people of her district and the county.
Helen is fair minded, a problem solver, has common sense and she is a hard worker. When issues arise, she will research and she will always have the best interest of the people she represents first.
I have heard it said that she does not have experience working in government. This is a true fact. In my mind, this is refreshing as she is one of us who is willing to step up and stand up for the people.
Please join us and cast your vote for the candidate whose goal is to listen to the people of District 1 and to do her best to represent from a place of honor and integrity.

My team is hosting office hours this Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the City Council chambers at Lakeport City Hall, 225 Park St., for residents to drop in and discuss any support you may need.
Our services include agency assistance to help residents navigate the complex federal agency system, including assistance working with the Social Security Administration, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the IRS or any other federal agency.
I also offer nominations for qualified high school seniors looking to serve their country by enrolling in one of our military academies. These include nominations for appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York; the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland; the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colorado; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York.
As a combat Vietnam veteran, I am committed to helping my fellow veterans get the benefits and health care they deserve. My office can support service members and veterans and their survivors in accessing the benefits they are owed.
Constituents of California's Fourth Congressional District can also order a United States flag through my Washington, D.C. office. And to anyone planning a visit to Washington, my Washington office can help arrange a tour of many of the city’s most popular attractions.
If you are in need of support, consider attending my team’s office hours this Sept. 10 or contact my nearest office: Napa, 707-226-9898; Santa Rosa, 707-542-7182; Woodland, 530-753-5301; or Washington, D.C., 202-225-3311.
Congressman Mike Thompson represents California’s Fourth Congressional District, which includes all or part of Lake, Napa, Solano, Sonoma and Yolo counties.

People often ask why Congressman Mike Thompson continues to be re-elected.
First, he understands that people elected him to listen to them and represent the majority to the best of his ability.
Second, he trains his staff to be respectful and impresses on them that their job is to assist the people of his district to the best of their ability.
And, third, he has access to federal governmental connections that members of the public do not have access to and he and his staff are willing to go the extra mile to get results.
I personally have had issues with the IRS and Postal Service (not our local Post Offices) that I was unable to resolve on my own. I called Congressman Thompson’s office and his staff took over. Believe me, they did not stop until they received a satisfactory answer.
I have referred others to Mike Thompson’s office for federal government-related issues and they have received the same results.
In this time of political unrest, where politicians seem to be too busy to deal one-on-one with their constituents, Congressman Mike Thompson and his staff are of the days that seem long gone, the days when the people mattered!
