LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Our loving mother Elizabeth, passed away on Monday, Oct. 1, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Gambonini, and her daughter, Carolynn Waters, both of Witter Springs, Calif.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean Hendricks of Roseville, Calif., and her son, Ralph Gambonini of Witter Springs, Calif. She has eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Elizabeth was born in Petaluma, Calif., where she attended both elementary and high school, graduating at the top of her class in 1936.
She attended Healds Business College and worked at the Greyhound Bus Co. in Santa Rosa, Calif., until she married Paul Gambonini of Petaluma in 1939. They were married for 72 years until his death in 2012.
They moved to Witter Springs in 1945, when he finished his tour of duty in the Army Air Corp serving as a fighter pilot in the South Pacific and in Tallahassee, Florida, during the early years of World War II.
She spent her time helping Paul on the ranch and raising their three children. She also did volunteer work at her church and at Lakeside Hospital.
Rosary service will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 1625 N. High St., Lakeport, on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 6 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held at Queen of the Rosary Mission Church, 3972 Country Club Drive, Lucerne, on Friday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. with interment to follow at Upper Lake Cemetery.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – Dixie went to be with her Savior, Jesus, at the age of 90.
A celebration of life will be at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary in Lakeport on Monday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m.

1956 - 2018
Dr. Korby Eugene Olson was born on Dec. 26, 1956, in Salem, Oregon, and left this life on Sept. 15, 2018, near Downpatrick, Northern Ireland.
Korby was a longtime educator in Lake County, California. He received his BA in physical education from Chico State University, MA in educational administration from Sacramento State University and his EdD from The University of Southern California.
He taught in the Konocti School District and then finished his career in the Middletown Unified School District where he started as a teacher, became a principal of various schools, director of special education and finally served as superintendent for nine years. He retired in 2015.
Korby was an active member of the Association of the California School Administrators, serving on the state board for three years and working in membership services for the last three. He was also an active member of the Middletown Rotary Club.
He enjoyed fly fishing, travel, baseball, cooking and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; son, Erick; his brother, Gary Olson, and his sister-in-law, Wilma; his nephew, Andrew, niece, Audra, and their family; his brother-in-law, Douglas Meents and his sister-in-law, Deborah and his nephew, Matthew. He also survived by various cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at the Middletown Lion’s Clubhouse at 15399 Central Park Road on Oct. 27 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Middletown High School for The Dr. Korby Olson Scholarship Fund (place in memo area) at Middletown High School, 20932 Big Canyon Rd, Middletown, CA 95461.
