Sadie Violet Ruth Stith
1926 – 2013
Sadie passed away peacefully July 14, 2013, at the age of 87 following an eight-year courageous challenge to recover from strokes.
She was born April 30, 1926, in New Mexico to William and Nellie Willbanks. She grew up with nine brothers and sisters who she adored.
Her family settled in Colorado where her brothers introduced her to her sweetheart, Raymond Stith. They were married in Los Angles, Calif., in 1946 and lived there until 1964.
At that time they moved with their children, Jerry and Sue to Lucerne where she resided for 49 years.
While in Lucerne she was very active with Foothill Baptist Church and Lakeshore Baptist Church where she was a charter member. Her great joy was working in teen and children's ministries such as Sunday School and vacation Bible school. She also loved her hobbies of painting, crafts and baking cakes.
Sadie loved her family dearly and each one brought her great joy. She is remembered as a sweet, beautiful person inside and out, who was loved by her family and friends.
Sadie is survived by her children, Jerry (Sharon) Stith, Sue (Tom) Hall; grandchildren, Tina (Dan) Newcomb, Jeffrey (Stephanie) Stith, Dayna Hall, Kevin Hall and Laura (Aaron) Kruszka; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Dylan and Brandon Newcomb, William, Nicky, Angel and Emily Stith, Landon, Gavin and Karson Kruszka; brother, Roy Willbanks; sisters, Mae Cooper, Fame Michaels and Nell Brown; sister-in-laws, Donna Stith, Dorothy Willbanks, Joyce Willbanks and Nan Willbanks. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Sadie was preceded in death by her son, Robert; husband, Raymond; grandson, Jimmy; brothers, James, William, and Myrl; and sisters, Irene and Georgia.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 1625 N. High St., Lakeport.
A reception will follow the service.
The family prefers donations in Sadie's memory be made to the American Heart and Stroke Association, 1710 Gilbreth Road, Burlingame, CA 94010-1795.

Marjorie Lillybell Traube left this earth to join our Heavenly Father after losing her courageous fight with metastatic cancer on July 9, 2013, following a tremendous battle of reoccurring cancer that spanned over two decades.
Margie was born on August 5, 1947, in Arcata, Calif. She is preceded in death by her father, Stanley Huber; mother, Lita Barnes; brother, Stanley Huber; and dear friend whom she considered a daughter, Elizabeth Town.
She has left behind two daughters, Sarah Timmons and Jayme Traube (Johnny); her children's father and lifelong friend, James Traube; her beloved grandchildren, Aiyana Rose Timmons and Emelia Bell Hale; along with countless family, chosen family and friends.
Margie moved to Lake County in 1988 to be close to her mother and start her business, Margie's Total Hand and Foot Care.
She dedicated her life to helping others, spent the majority of her time assisting in her children and grandchildren's activities; coached her daughter's soccer team and volunteered many days at her children and grandchildren's schools.
In the mid 1990s she volunteered her time on numerous Sundays to cook for the senior center. She also spent countless hours assisting those who were homebound by running errands and performing daily chores out of the kindness of her heart. Everything she has ever done was done wholeheartedly and full of love.
Along with her warm smile and open heart, she has cared for and inspired all who have crossed her path, even opening her home to those in need. Margie didn't know a stranger, all who were honored to know her loved her. She has left an imprint on everyone's heart that will last a lifetime.
Margie was an avid gardener, she spent countless hours tending to her flowers and numerous species of wild birds that made Margie's yard their home.
Above all, Margie has selflessly dedicated the last 15 years of her life to raising her two grandchildren, Aiyana, 15, and Emelia, 3 (children of Sarah Timmons). They were her world, she went above and beyond to honor, love, protect and provide for them each and everyday.
Margie will be greatly missed in the lives of many but her legacy will forever live on.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held Saturday, Aug. 3, at Pine Acres Resort (Blue Lakes) clubhouse. Services will start at noon.
A memorial fund at Chase Bank, account number 995049442 has been set up to assist with her memorial expenses.
