LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Our Beautiful Girl, Alyssa Marie Gomez-Jack, has left this world, her spirit has traveled on.
Alyssa was born March 4, 1996, to parents Michael L. Gomez and Marcellina M. Jack.
She passed on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022. She was 26 years old.
Alyssa lived her entire life on the Big Valley Rancheria and was an enrolled member of the tribe.
She loved participating in sports, particularly volleyball, both in high school and on the native circuit.
Alyssa attended and graduated from Clear Lake High School. Once she turned 18, she worked for her tribe’s smoke shop where with persistence, dedication and hard work, she became assistant manager.
Her two children, Alina and Owen Fred, were her biggest motivators and she loved them more than life itself. They were the center of her world and she was the best mother to her babies.
Alyssa helped to provide support, love and care for her niece, Nikia, who was also like a child to her.
Alyssa is survived by her fiancé, Jonathan Fred; parents, Michael (Gina) and Marcellina (Aaron); brothers, Michael B. Gomez, Niko Cazares, Matthew Smith, Michael Smith, Steven Morgan, Andrew Gomez; sisters, Mona Gomez, Vanessa Gomez-Jack, Deidra Lopez, Feather Morgan and Mary Morgan.
She also is survived by her uncles, Kelly Jack, Philip Jack and Jeremiah Jack; great-aunt, Karen Toledo; aunts, Carla Rodriguez, Valerie Jack, Janine Williams and Cherie Dickinson; and numerous close cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
Alyssa is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Valentino P. Jack and Marlene Jack; paternal grandmother, Rosella Gomez; sister, Nikia Gomez; uncle, Charles Jack; aunt, Selena Jack; and great-grandmother, Ruth Manuel.
This is just a little insight about who our beautiful girl was in life, but she was much, much more to her family, her friends and her community.
The memory of Alyssa’s big, bright, beautiful smile will continue to live on in our memories and our hearts until we are all united again.
We love you, Alyssa.
A traditional four-day ceremony and viewing will be held at the Big Valley Rancheria Gymnasium at 1002 Osprey Court, Lakeport, California, beginning on Friday, Dec. 9.
Graveside services will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Monday, Dec. 12, at 11 a.m., followed by a post-funeral reception with the family.
