The half-day equestrian program will take place on Saturday, June 21, from 9 to 11 a.m., followed by a hotdog lunch.
The program is designed for those youngsters who have little or no experience with horses.
Students will learn about grooming, feeding and the care of horses.
There will be a roping demonstration and those who wish will be able to mount a horse and ride it within the confines of a fenced area.
Students between the ages of 8 and 18 are eligible.
Parents are required to stay on site. Safety head gear will be provided.
Sheriff's Activities League Board member Sierra Baker will lead the activity.
The league is grateful to Tanya Rankin, owner of the Blue Eyed Raven Ranch in Kelseyville, for hosting this event.
Registration is limited to 10 students.
Organizers hope to repeat the program in the fall.

This event invites residents and visitors alike to meet the farmers, explore the land, and enjoy unique, hands-on experiences across several small farms in the Big Valley region.
Each participating farm will host special activities for guests, showcasing the diversity and dedication of Lake County’s small farm community.
Visitors can expect farm tours, tastings, product demonstrations, and opportunities to purchase locally grown and handmade goods.

The distribution of child and youth life jackets will be for children ages 2 through 12 years and within one of two weight divisions: 30 to 50 pounds or 50 to 90 pounds.
The Konocti Women’s Service Club members will register and weigh the children.
Qualified Flotilla members will fit the child with the correct size and demonstrate to the parent the proper wearing of the life jacket.
All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The event is scheduled to end at 3 p.m. or when the supply runs out.
Information on safe boating and other material will be available as well as information on complimentary vessel safety checks.
The Flotilla of Lake County encourages boat owners and especially those with children to stay safe on the water by utilizing these complimentary services the Flotilla offers.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Longtime Lake County residents Larry and Beverly Bresso are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
The couple originally exchanged vows on May 16, 1975, at the First Presbyterian Church in Lakewood, Colorado.
The California boy and Colorado girl met at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.
Their married life began with an adventure "down under" in Australia where Larry took his first teaching assignment.
Upon returning to the United States a few years later, they chose Lake County as their home and quickly became integral members of our community.
Larry taught physical education at Kelseyville High School and, as head coach, built a volleyball program that still rivals any in our region.
Beverly devoted her professional life to serving others through several decades with California Social Services.
They raised their son Kasey in the shadow of Mt. Konocti.
They enjoy retired life in Kelseyville and their "home away from home," Kihei, Maui.
Please join their family and friends in raising a glass to Larry and Beverly Bresso on their golden wedding anniversary.
