Low Vision Resource Group reschedules meeting

LAKEPORT, Calif. — The Low Vision Resource Group has rescheduled its meeting to Tuesday, March 7.

It will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Lakeport Library, 1425 N. High St.

As we age, we may need to adjust to changes in our eyesight.

Vision rehabilitation educator Patricia Jefferson of the Earle Baum Center of the Blind will give us tools to help with these changes.

Attendees will have a chance to discuss their concerns.

This event is funded through Lake County Behavioral Health MHSA Mini Grant Program.

County reports on solid waste facilities closures and garbage service delays

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — The Lake County Public Services Office reported that weather conditions are having temporary impacts to garbage pickup and facilities.

Impacted facilities include the following:

• The Eastlake Landfill in Clearlake is closed.
• The South Lake Refuse and Recycle Yard and Quackenbush Mountain Resource Recovery Park in Clearlake are closed.
• Residential and commercial garbage service for South Lake Refuse and Recycling is canceled.
• Residential and commercial garbage service for Lake County Waste Solutions is canceled.

Some Lake County Post Offices impacted by winter weather

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Road closures and limited access set on by severe weather conditions has necessitated the temporary closure of several Lake County Post Offices.

Impacted facilities include:

Lower Lake: 16165 Main St.
Nice: 3964 E. State Highway 20.
Cobb: 16595 Highway 175.
Lakeport: 1151 11th St.

Normal retail and delivery operations will resume in impacted offices once access is restored.

This is a rapidly changing situation, and the USPS is proud to serve our local communities.

The Postal Service asks for patience “as we hold our solemn duties to provide the safest, fastest, and most efficient method of providing mail service to our residents.”

Many retail services including temporary forwards, stamps and more are also available anytime, online at www.USPS.com.
