FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — The University of Arkansas is recognizing students for making the Spring 2025 Chancellor's List.
Dallis Beverlin of Kelseyville, California, joins a prestigious group of students who have attained a 4.0 grade-point average for the semester while completing at least 12 credit hours of coursework.
"Achieving a perfect GPA while taking a full schedule of classes is a testament to these students' hard work, discipline and commitment to excellence," said Chancellor Charles Robinson. "Congratulations to everyone who earned a place on the Chancellor's List, and best wishes for continued success through graduation and beyond."

All students on the Chancellor's List also automatically earn recognition on the university's Dean's List, which includes scholars with a minimum 3.75 grade-point average.

MARYSVILLE, Calif. — The Yuba Community College District Board of Trustees selected and approved Karissa Morehouse as Yuba College’s next vice president of student services, a role she has held in an interim capacity since October 2024.
“Karissa’s experience in both instruction and student services made her stand out as a candidate,” said Dr. Tawny Dotson, president of Yuba College. “Her time at a number of community colleges, including rural-serving ones, was celebrated and supported by many during the hiring process. She has earned the support of the student services team and the college, and we look forward to seeing her help us to continue to grow and serve our community.”
At Yuba College, Morehouse will lead admissions and registration, Extended Opportunity Programs and Services, CalWorks, career services, counseling, financial aid, outreach, testing, transfer, TRiO, Upward Bound and veterans’ services programs.
Additionally, she will oversee Yuba College’s relationships with various organizations and contractors both on and off campus.
Morehouse brings more than 18 years of experience in academic and student affairs in higher education, with experience serving both rural and remote communities.
Her previous roles include vice president of instruction, chief instructional officer/dean of student learning and counseling and director of college access.
She has collaborated with internal and external partners to reimagine how higher education is delivered, developing dynamic programs with wrap-around student services.
Morehouse advocates for the creation of approachable spaces while enhancing opportunities for every student who seeks to learn at the community college.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and human development from California Polytechnic State University and a master’s degree in social science from Chico State.
“I look forward to advancing Yuba College’s work to remove barriers and unnecessary steps for students to successfully complete educational and career programs in our diverse community,” Morehouse said.

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — Dallis Beverlin of Kelseyville, California, was named to the University of Arkansas Dean's List for the 2025 Spring Semester.
Beverlin joins a distinguished group of students recognized for this outstanding academic achievement.
To qualify for the Dean's List, undergraduates must achieve a grade-point average of 3.75 (or higher) during the semester while completing at least 12 credit hours.
School of Law students must earn a 3.0 grade-point average or higher during the semester to be named to the Law School Dean's List.
"We are incredibly proud of the students who have earned a place on the Dean's List this semester," said Provost Terry Martin. "Achieving this level of academic success is no small feat and is evidence of their dedication and perseverance in their academic pursuits. It is also a testament to the families, friends and mentors whose encouragement and support have been vital to their academic journey."

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Delta Iota Tau, Lakeport chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, has awarded its 2025 scholarships.
The sorority solicits applications for scholarships from Clear Lake High and Kelseyville High School seniors.
All applications are reviewed by the Scholarship Committee with two seniors chosen for the awards.
This year Toni Funderburg, Lori Underwood, Judy Stevenson and Lori Coovert, chair of the Scholarship Committee, attended the graduations and awards ceremonies to present Sylvia Holquin, Kaliann Woodson, Ashlyn Klein and Fabiola Covarrubias their certificates for their awards.
Each young lady will receive a $1,000 check upon their submission of proof of college registration for classes earning a minimum of 12 credits for the semester.
Upon submission of registration for their next semester for classes earning 12 credits, they will receive another $1,000.
Delta Iota Tau appreciates the support of community members who purchase See’s Candy at North Lake Pharmacy during the year and at Bruno’s Shop Smart on Lakeport Boulevard on special holidays.
Profits from these sales are donated 100% to nonprofit organizations, high school scholarships and special Lake County community needs.
