Hike Boggs Mountain Feb. 24

COBB, Calif. – A hike on Boggs Mountain will take place on Sunday, Feb. 24.

Beginning at 9 a.m., Darlene Hecomovich will lead a two-mile, casual-paced hike on Hoberg Loop and Vista Point trails.

Bring water, a snack and wear sturdy shoes.

Meet promptly at the Hoberg Loop Trail trailhead, located on the entrance road off of Highway 175, about half a mile north of the Forestry Road entry to Boggs Mountain State Forest. Turn east on Entrance Road and proceed 100 yards up to the trailhead.

Feb. 16 basketball game to benefit Konocti Basketball League

LOWER LAKE, Calif. – A basketball game pitting local police and firefighters against Konocti Basketball League coaches will take place on Saturday, Feb. 16.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the game taking place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Lower Lake High School main gym, 9430 Lake St.

The “Guns and Hoses” team will play coaches with the Konocti Basketball League.    

Entry fee for adults is $5, $3 for students, and ages 4 and under get in for free.

Food and drinks will be available at the snack bar.

There also will be a 50/50 raffle and a “shoot out” contest during half-time.

All proceeds from this event will help keep Konocti Basketball League active for local children.
