KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – A bird walk will be held at Clear Lake State Park on Saturday, Sept. 1.
Join Brad Barnwell on a bird walk along Cole Creek, Kelsey Creek and Kelsey Slough.
The two-hour walk will be at a slow pace and cover about two miles of paved road and established trails.
Meet in the visitor center parking lot at 7:30 a.m.
Participants should bring binoculars, water, mosquito repellent and sun protection.
Park entry fees are waived for those participating in the walk.
Clear Lake State Park is located at 5300 Soda Bay Road.

HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE, Calif. – The HVL Men’s Niners Golf Club held the final round of its 2012 Club Championship and regular sweeps (low net) play on Thursday, Aug. 23.
Congratulations to Mike Riley, who won the club championship scoring at net 31.
In regular play, the results were:
- First flight – Tom Gibbs took first with net 30. Fred Figg was second with net 33 and Jim Ferris was third, 34.
- Second flight – Randy Brown was first at net 30. Bill Brewster and Dennis Bero tied for second at 31.
- Third flight – Mike Higman was first, 32. Don Dornbush was second, 33. Bill Surber and Tim Greer tied for third, 36.
- Fourth flight – Jim Hodges took first with 30. Ben Kennedy was second, 31. Bill Ferris and Mike Casolo tied for third, 33.
- Fifth flight – Mike Riley was first, 31. Dennis Day was second, 32. Pete Gumina and Ed Carver tied for third, 34.
- Closest to the par 3 pins were Stan Kalata and Dave Mann.
Chip-ins were scored by Ed Carver and Tom Gibbs.
Fifty-seven men participated in the day’s competitions.
