HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE – The H.V.L. Men's Niners Golf Club completed the flight match play and a sweeps competition on Aug. 26.
The match play winners were: First flight, Joe Vallee; second flight, Ron Clark; third flight, Phil Tyler; fourth flight, Ed Carver.
The sweeps results were:
First flight: Tom Gibbs and Stan Kalata tied at low net 32, while Kevin Martin was third with net 33.
Second flight: Juergen Haller was first at 32, Carl Dennis was second with 34 and Paul Bertlin had 35.
Third flight: Doug Carter finished on top, 33, while Sam DeBone had 34, and Byron Hoss, 35.
Fourth flight: Dennis Day came in at 33, and Tom Sowell and Mason Butler tied for second with 34.
Closest to the par 3 pins were Bill Stricklan and Mike Riley.
Chip-ins were scored by Jim DeRosa, Don Dornbush, Wayne Baker and Tom Sowell.
Fifty-two men participated in the day's events.

MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – Public Services Director Kim K. Clymire announced that the Middletown Pool has closed for the season due to a major waterline repair, the lifeguard quitting prematurely and the start of school on Aug. 17.
Hardester’s Market in Middletown once again generously donated free swim passes for children who are 12 years of age and under.
Hardester’s has donated to date $35,014.75 in free pool passes to Middletown children since 1988. Clymire offered his sincere appreciation to the Hardesters for their continued, unselfish support to the community.
